Make your own biochar and build a layered biochar-and-sand filter that turns rainwater and stream water into clean water for the household. You’ll learn how biochar captures contaminants, how to size a filter for your family’s daily use, how to maintain and recharge it, and when water still needs boiling or UV treatment. Everyone leaves knowing how to build one at home with local materials.
