About the Academy
The Caribbean Homestead Academy is a nonprofit educational institute in Puerto Rico dedicated to helping people live independently. We teach the decentralized production of electricity, water, structures and food — the systems that let a household or community stay resilient through storms, outages and supply disruptions.
How we teach
- Small groups, mostly outdoors, mostly hands-on
- Working systems you can see, touch and copy
- Designs sized for real Caribbean conditions: heat, humidity, hurricanes and heavy rain
Where
Courses are held on rural properties in Puerto Rico. Exact locations and directions are shared with registered students before each course.
