Tropical Food Forest Design

Plan and plant a multi-layer food forest suited to Puerto Rico's elevations, soils and seasons.

Plan and plant a multi-layer food forest suited to Puerto Rico’s elevations, soils and seasons. A well-designed food forest feeds a family for decades with less work every year. You’ll learn the design process from reading the land to planting your first guild. You’ll learn: Canopy, sub-canopy, shrub, herb and ground layers; Species lists for coastal, mid and upper elevations; Nitrogen fixers, chop-and-drop and soil building; Propagation: cuttings, air layering and seed; Hurricane resilience and windbreak planning.
